We devote ourselves to providing children with highest quality bilingual education. Shanghai Ivy Kindergarten focuses on the combination of Shanghai second curriculum reform and PYP international kindergarten courses, which aims to provide students with East and West combined education. 上海常青藤幼儿园课程采用上海二期课改课程，结合IB课程中PYP早期基础教育体系，并结合加州常青藤幼儿园的办园理念，采用双语教学模式将确保孩子在中英文各半的语言环境中学习。我们的教师团队由中文和英文为母语的中外籍老师担任，每个班级配备4位教师，1名中教，1名外教，1名助教和1名保育员。在2-6岁班级，学生们将通过有针对性的寓教于乐的模式，边学习边培养学习发展领域。在5-6岁班级，宝贝们将接受比较正式的课堂学习模式，从而为过渡到学龄教育做好准备。

We choose Shanghai Second reformed curriculum, combined with PYP previous education system in IB and Eight Intelligence Theory of California Ivy Kindergarten. We make sure that students can learn in a bilingual circumstance. We offer native Chinese and English teachers. Each class will be equipped with assistants and child-care workers, including 4 teachers, 1 Chinese teacher, 1 foreign teacher, 1 assistant teacher and 1 child-care worker. In the class for 2-6 years old students, we will teach them study and through lively activities. In the class for 5-6 years old students, students will learn through a relatively formal teaching mode so that they can be better ready for future education.

Shanghai Ivy Kindergarten works closely with California Ivy Kindergarten. As the overseas extension of California Ivy Kindergarten, Shanghai Ivy Kindergarten can share their educational resources and get guidance from them. Through exchanging teaching staffs and visiting each other’s campus, we can become an unique, vigorous and international education institution. We are tightly connected with other extensions of California Ivy Kindergarten in curriculum, uniforms, title, language and other layout. Our Expert Consultative Committee contains representatives from California Ivy Kindergarten. And our education mode adopts their education philosophy.

All the teachers have qualifications and degrees on preschool education. In order to provide a good bilingual teaching environment, we hire Chinese and English native speakers. Furthermore, they agree with IVY’s values , concepts and teaching mode.

我们提供以主题为单元的双语课程，通过学习不同主题来发展技能。体能发展、社会和情感发展、沟通和语言发展这三大领域是素质课程发展的核心，数学和逻辑能力、读写能力、认知能力、表现力和艺术设计能力是学科领域的发展，将通过设计特定的学习计划来实现，并满足每个孩子的不同需求和喜好。

We offer curriculum based on different topics. Through learning different topics, students’ skills can be developed. The development of body, society and affection, communication and language are three main areas of the core of our curriculum. At the same time, we focus on students’ mathematics, speaking, writing, performing, art designing and other special area developments. Through making specific study plans, different needs and habits of the students can be satisfied.

在设计和规划设备设施时，我们都将幼儿的学习摆在考虑因素的首位。我们确信孩子在教师的正确指导下，有自由选择不同学习区域的权力。因此教室的设计也综合考虑了学生学习的多种需求：移动、探索发现以及帮助开发学生学习的主动性等，学生有更多的室内、室外学习区域。
室内空间包含标准教室、包含角色扮演区、阅读区、游戏区域、STEM活动室、生活活动室、室内多功能活动室、音乐艺术区以及户外活动场所，此外我们还有餐厅、图书馆。室外设施的设计也是基于确保学生能自由的活动，以促使他们更积极主动的去学习。在此每个年龄段的孩子都有不同的运动空间来配合他们更好的锻炼成长。我们还开设植物角、故事角、想象力培养区、沙与水空间、音乐创作角等等，以及可供休闲娱乐的草坪。在这里，孩子们能够充分享受童年的乐趣！

We put study in the first place when designing and regulating our facilities. We make sure that each student can get guidance from the teachers and can choose different learning areas. We put students’ need into consideration and help to arouse their initiatives. Students can have more indoor and outdoor learning areas.

We have classrooms, role and play areas, reading areas, game areas, STEM areas, living areas, indoor multi-functional activity room, music and art areas and outdoor activity areas. Furthermore, we offer canteen and library. Outdoor design makes sure that students can not only exercise freely but also work actively. Students of different ages have different spaces to enjoy their growth. We also set plant corner, story corner, imagination corner, sand and water corner, music corner and lawns for entertainment. In Shanghai Ivy Kindergarten, children can enjoy happy childhood!

通常学生在每天早上8点00分抵达校园开始一天的学习生活。研究表明每天清晨是幼儿一天中思维最活跃的时间段，当他们在一晚休息调整后便是一天中学习探索的最好的机会，因此每天学生都有各种活动参与。精心设计的课程表能保证孩子既能够自由移动，又可以体验每个不同的学习空间。根据学习的主题不同，孩子们会有一系列自我主导和教师主导的活动。每个孩子会有固定的教室以及助教和保育员，同时会有不同的时段由中文老师或英文老师带班，以确保50/50的中英文语言环境。

School life begins at 8:00 in the morning. It is found that kids think the most actively in the morning and it is the best time for them to explore knowledge after a night’s relaxation. Students have various school activities every day. We offer well designed curriculum schedule to make sure that students can move freely and experience distinctive study areas. According to different learning topics, students will attend a series of activities led by the teachers and by themselves. Each student has his own fixed classroom, teaching assistant and nursery worker. Chinese and English teachers will give classes on different time period to make sure students can study in a 50/50 Chinese and English language environment.

在开学前家长需帮助学生为即将步入的学习生活做好准备，其中关键的一点是帮助他们建立一个系统的睡眠时间。
通常我们建议：
● 2岁：1.5小时午睡 + 11小时夜间睡眠
● 3岁：0-45分钟午睡 + 12小时夜间睡眠
● 4岁：11.5小时夜间睡眠
● 5岁：11小时夜间睡眠
当幼儿的睡眠不足时就会容易变得情绪化，这无疑会影响到他们在课间的积极性。家长应将孩子的休息时间安排妥当，以确保孩子能得到足够的休息。这将是孩子健康成长的一大保障。为了建立起好的睡眠习惯，我们建议在18:30-19:00之前，孩子就应该洗完澡、讲完故事并且情绪应该逐渐安静下来准备睡觉了。这样他们在第二天早上六点便会轻松的自然醒，来迎接新一天的挑战。我们强烈建议您建立这样的习惯，以免孩子错失学习良机。
此外，家长还必须确保孩子能够独立行走。对于一个健康的孩子来说家长完全没有必要时刻抱着他，这无益于培养孩子的独立意识。教师们希望看到的是，开学时家长牵着孩子的手一起走入校门，随后带着微笑与孩子道别。我们不希望每天早上去将孩子和父母硬生生的分开，因为这样会传递负面信息。没有家长希望孩子长得太快，但“独立”是孩子成长中相当重要的品质。对此家长必须懂得如何适当的“放手”，要注意这里的家长包括父母、外/祖父母、相关的亲戚以及家庭阿姨等等。

Parents should help students better prepare before going to school. One of the key points is to help them form a good sleep habit.

We recommend:

2 years old: 1.5 hours afternoon nap + 11 hours night sleep

3 years old: 0-45 minutes afternoon nap + 12 hours night sleep

4 years old: 11.5 hours night sleep

5 years old: 11 hours night sleep

If babies do not have enough time for sleep, they will get emotional which will influence their school life. Parents should make a good plan for babies’ relaxation so that they can grow up well. In order to form a good sleeping habit, we recommend that babies have already got a shower, listened to the stories and calmed down for their sleep before 18:30pm to 19:00 pm. Then they will wake up naturally next morning and get ready for a new day’s challenge. We strongly advise you to form such a habit for your kids to seize good opportunities.

Furthermore, parents should make sure that your babies can walk by themselves. For healthy babies, it is unnecessary to hold them in your arms all the time because this is harmful for them to form their sense of independence. We hope to see that you can hold your babies’ hands and walk together in our school. Then you can give your babies a smile and good bye. We don’t hope to see that you and your baby separate sadly. Parents all hope that their babies grow up slowly, however, independence is so vital for the babies. Parents should know how to let your babies learn to be independent in a proper way. And we want you to pay attention that parents here means babies’ parents, grandparents, and other relatives.

我们托班、小班和中班的孩子都有成长记录。基于PYP早期教育课程评测体系，我们将从学习发展的八个方面来评估学生的进展。孩子们进入大班前则要经历里程碑式的跨越并准备好接受更正式的教育。在大班他们在语言、阅读和算数方面会有更具体的目标。

We keep records for children in baby class, junior class and middle class. Based on PYP previous education curriculum evaluation system, we will evaluate students’ progress through eight study development aspects. Before they go to senior class, they should make huge progress and be ready for much more formal education. In the senior class, they will have more specific goals in language, reading and mathematics.

所有的学生每天都会有一个负责任的老师或者助教来照看他们，除此之外我们还提供保育员来提供额外的照顾。大班开始是两个班配一个保育员，以培养学生们的独立性为他们升入下个学习阶段做准备。

Every student is allocated with a specific teacher or assistant. Besides, we have extra care from child-care workers. At the beginning, there will be one child-care worker for two senior classes to train students’ independence. In this way, students can be ready for their next study period.

家长可以通过学校官网www.ivy-china.com; 微信公众号“上海常青藤幼儿园”申请报名、在线缴纳考试费，预约校园开放日等，但如果班级没有名额，可申请排队等候名额。建议您尽可能提前为孩子申请报名。

Parents can browse our website www.ivy-china.com or follow our wechat official account“上海常青藤幼儿园” to apply for school, pay the test fee or make reservation for School Open Day. If there are not enough places, you can wait in line. So we strongly recommend you to make applications as soon as possible.

附：上海市入园条件（教委公布为准）：
上海户籍学生；学生本人持有《上海市临时居住证》，父母一方持《上海市居住证》（居住证需持续有效）港、澳、台籍或持外籍护照学生。通过学校组织的学生面试和家长面试。

Reference: requirements of entering Shanghai kindergarten (subject to regulation of Board of Education)：

Students with Shanghai Hukou; student keeps shanghai temporary residence permit; father or mother keeps Shanghai residence permit (persistent effectiveness) and the student is from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan or has foreign passport. Shanghai Ivy Kindergarten will interview students and the parents.

家长申请报名后，若班级有名额，学校会为孩子安排中英文双语面试，园长亦会与每组申请入学的家长面谈。在面试面谈通过后，学生被正式录取，学校会寄发官方录取通知书给家长。

After application for class, of there is still place for students, IVY will organize bilingual interview with students. Our principal will also talk to parents face to face. If the student passes the interview, IVY will send offer letter to parents.

早上8点至3：10， 3：10放学以后，家长可自由选择课外活动Afterschool课程，时间是4：15---5:00。
 园长和教务部副园长会综合评量孩子整体发展水平，依据男女比例等各项因素，将孩子分配到适龄班级。

School life begins at 8:00 am and ends at 3:10pm. After school, parents can choose afterschool courses freely, which begins at 4:14pm to 5:00pm.

Principal and vice principal of Academic Department will evaluate students’ comprehensive development level. Considering elements like male-female ratio, they will divide students into different suitable classes.
